Not sure we realised at the time. (Our customer certainly did!) Just what a landmark this signwriting would become.
The new road layout at the Butts island, Lichfield Road Walsall, has allowed for a fantastic view of W.T.Hill & Son Butchers traditionally sign written wall from the road.
A wonderful, long established family business, Hill’s obviously appreciate the ‘traditional’ things in life and were perfect for this type of work.
It would be very easy to install a big plastic, computer cut signboard here, but thank goodness Richard and Ashley allowed me to get the paint brush out on this one!
Keeping hand-crafted artwork in the public domain has become a bit of a mission of mine over the past 30 years and I’m happy to say I feel like it’s appreciated.
So next time you drive from Rushall or Aldridge, heading towards Walsall. Look out for this one as you negotiate the Butts island.
